Motorola Droid 2: Hands-On Video First Review

Buzz this
The Motorola Droid 2 would be a great successor to the Motorola Droid / Milestone first call , at least according to what we learn today. The Droid 2 draws attention to the network for weeks now , including rumors , photos stolen and the first confirmation. After confirmation Droid X, Show Friday with an ad, instead of today we Droid 2. The difference between the two models is virtually in keyboard physical QWERTY: X does not possess the Droid , Droid the second does.
Android and Me created the first video hands-on in the world with the terminal in question , offering a first look overall at the terminal. Addressing as a first feature that aestheticThe review can see that the Droid 2 is very similar to the first Droid / Milestone both in physical size , weight , and form. Both use the same battery.

No big difference in design, except that we find in 2 Droid frame around the display and keyboard has been redesigned , removing the pad navigation with directional arrows which resemble the keypad of the Nokia 9500. The frame external terminal is colored silver and fully covers the bottom.
The keyboard is still full four rows , with the elimination of the pad , the keys seem to be slightly larger , with a pleasant tactile experience . The Droid was black with golden profiles , while the successor is very dark blue with silver profiles . If you were among the detractors of design, size and shape of the first Droid , you are not satisfied even by his successor , who traces in full features.
The major differences with the notice within Milestone : The Droid 2 is powered by a TI OMAP3630 processor 1GHz with a significant increase in performance . The new Droid also 512MB of RAM , or twice the past, and the same GPU PowerVR SGX530 . The processor operates in a similar way by the Order Cortex- A8 , which also shares the aforementioned graphics processor .
The OMAP3630 offers maximum performance with a limited battery power . In terms of testing and results of the GPU , the Droid 2 can run twice as many frames per second of the first Droid , thanks to higher speed CPU and twice the RAM.
It is expected that the Motorola Droid 2 is launched Android operating system 2.1 and is then quickly upgraded to Android 2.2 after launch. The terminal seems to be ready to meet both hardware and software , especially if the first operators await the launch in August to release immediately upgrading to Frøya . .
In terms of impressions, whether you loved or at least appreciated the first Milestone / Droid and find that " little something "that is missing, you will probably find the momentary perfection Droid 2. If you are not fully satisfied with the first experience Droid , maybe you should wait until Christmas, when Motorola plans to release on the market terminals with front camera and processor 2 GHz
If you really can not wait , however, the Droid 2 appears to qualify as a good smartphone. For those , however, has not decided between X and Droid Droid 2, we clarify that there are virtually identical in hardware and that the differences are only cosmetic . The choice depends on your habits , as already mentioned in the opening .
So, to summarize the characteristics of the new Droid 2 when compared with the "old " Droid X
  • And ' slightly better performance (new processor , twice the memory)
  • And ' A keyboard that is to join touch interface ;
  • And ' slightly larger ;
  • It ' not focusing on social networking ;
